Individual Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) in London
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) sessions can be arranged with Rachael who sees individuals from clinics in Wimbledon on Tuesdays. Rachael offers a free 15 min telephone consultation to anyone interested in starting psychotherapy to ensure you feel you have a connection with your therapist, to briefly talk through your difficulties and to answer any questions you may have.
CBT focuses on understanding and working with thinking patterns and behaviours which can maintain emotional and psychological distress. It is an active treatment, which is recognised by NICE as the ‘gold standard’ treatment for a range of problems including
- Panic Attacks
- Generalised Anxiety
- Specific Phobias
- Social Anxiety
- Health Anxiety
- Eating Disorders.
CBT can also be helpful for with issues such as low self esteem, perfectionism, general life stress, or not feeling ‘quite right’, but are unsure why. Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) has also been recognised by NICE guidelines as an effective treatment for individuals who have experiences of re-occurring depression.
Rachael has a wealth of experience working in the NHS and the community with individuals from a range of backgrounds to help them overcome their difficulties and lead happier, more fulfilling lives. Rachael is also a Teaching Fellow at Surrey University’s Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Programme where she teaches and supervises trainee Cognitive Behaviour Therapists.
CBT is covered by most medical insurance policies, and Kind to Mind is registered with all major providers.
We also accept referrals from Psychiatrists, G.P.s, and individuals who are happy to self-fund.
